The Cottage is five miles from the sea at Southwold and the same distance from river facilities at Bevvles and the bird sanctuary at Benacre Ness. It is within easy reach of Minsmere, Aldeburgh, and Dunwich. Freshwater, sea fishing, and gold are available in the area. Norwich and Great Yarmouth are within easy driving (35 and 25 minutes, respectively), and there are many good restaurants and pubs serving food within easy reach of the Cottage.
